The MLS Portland Timbers and NWSL Portland Thorns FC are proud to offer the number one camp program for soccer players of all ages and skill levels throughout the state of Oregon and Southwest Washington.
What will continue to be the most popular soccer camps in the Northwest, the Timbers/Thorns Camp program, presented by adidas and Nike is designed and led by the team’s coaching staff and players. The Timbers adidas Soccer Camps program and Thorns Nike Soccer program features an incredible 12:1 player-coach ratio and bases all training groups upon skill level and age. Each camp is centered around age-appropriate exercises and activities designed to develop technical excellence and build a love for the game.
Both camp programs have retained the Timbers original TREES program designed to teach young players life values and life skills that are far reaching beyond the soccer field. TEAMWORK, RESPECT, EFFORT, ENVIRONMENT and SPORTSMANSHIP are incorporated into each camp’s curriculum.
The Portland Timbers MLS Soccer Camp program and Portland Thorns camp program will consist of a larger variety of camps and programs throughout the year which include a Timbers/Thorns Tots Camp Program for players 5-6 years old, a Timbers/Thorns Juniors Skill-Building program for 7-9 years old, a Junior Timbers/Thorns Camp Program for players 10-13 years old and High School Prep and residential College ID Camp programs for 13-18 years old..
Timbers/Thorns Coaching Staff
The Timbers/Thorns Soccer Camps feature an outstanding coaching staff, led by Portland Timbers/Thorns coaches, as well as top Olympic Development Program, college and club coaches in the region, and Timbers/Thorns players from the first team and the PDL team. All camp instructors will attend a coaching symposium directed by Timbers Youth Academy Director Mike Smith, who is also a US Soccer National Youth License Instructor. The curriculum for the Timbers/Thorns Soccer Camps is specifically designed by the Timbers coaching staff to challenge players, both mentally and physically, in a friendly, encouraging and professional environment.
The Portland Timbers and Portland Thorns strive to provide the best experience. At the end of every camp, all Timbers/Thorns Campers, ages 5-9 will receive a Timbers or Thorns Camp Certificate for their participation and players 10-13 will receive a Timbers/Thorns Camp Evaluation form, giving them feedback on their play during camp with improvements they can make.
