Timbers' Antoniuk named to league's 'Team of the Week'

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Timbers forward Dan Antoniuk was named to the USL First Division’s Team of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.

Antoniuk garnered the award after hitting for the Timbers’ only goal of the match in Saturday’s 1-1 tie at Richmond.

Currently the club’s leading scorer with 20 points (9g, 2a), Antoniuk was named to the league’s weekly honor roll three times prior.

The Timbers (8-9-9, 33pts) play two key games this week at PGE Park in their bid for a fourth postseason appearance in five campaigns. Atlanta comes to town on Thursday night, while Richmond makes the trip on Saturday. Both matches kick off at 7 p.m. (Pacific).
