The Portland Timbers are 3-1-2 (11pts) through their first six games of the 2007 USL First Division season. Contributing to the team’s early season performance are key players up for May’s “Man of the Month” and fans get to decide who receives the honor by voting in the Fan Poll.
Up for May’s "Man of the Month" are goalkeeper Josh Wicks, defender Leonard Griffin, forward Bryan Jordan, midfielder Andrew Gregor and forward Chris Bagley.
Fans can vote for May’s “Man of the Month” through Monday, June 4 at 12 p.m.
Wicks has played every minute between the pipes this season, posting a 3-1-2 record and three shutouts in May. He has recorded 10 saves and allowed only four goals for a 0.66 goals-against average. Coming off the bench to begin the season, Jordan has started the last four matches. He scored his first professional goal against Club Necaxa Elite on May 9.
Gregor has scored four goals and recorded an assist during the first month of the season to lead the Timbers in scoring (9pts). With six starts through May, Gregor has played all 540 minutes this season.
