Captain wins honor for gritty play in regular season home finale

The Portland Timbers fell to the Houston Dynamo by a score of 2-0 in front of a franchise record tying 20,323 people in their home finale Friday night. Houston scored on both sides of the half to escape Portland with three points and clinch a spot in the MLS Cup Playoffs. 

Timbers captain and points leader Jack Jewsbury was named the Man of the Match for his gritty effort in Friday's performance. This is the 4th time the MLS all-star selection has been named Man of the Match this season.
