In his first year with the Portland Timbers, team captain Will Johnson is making quite a name for himself and quicky endearing himself to Timbers fans. Feisty, energetic and a catalyst for the team's rise this season, Johnson is a clear candidate for his inclusion in the 2013 MLS All-Star Game on July 31, 2013 against AS Roma.

Case in point: this Week 7 free kick from Will Johnson that took home Goal of the Week honors.

Then there was his sensational strike on Mother's Day at JELD-WEN Field:

And this, his most recent goal:

In addition to goals, Will has been the team's Ironman:

  • He is the only Portland player that has played in every minute of the regular season (1,530 min.)
  • His six goals is a career high and lead the team
  • He made his Timbers debut, as captain, March 3 against New York, and assisted on Diego Valeri's goal in the 14th minute
  • Recorded three assists in a 5-1 win over the Wilmington Hammerheads of USL PRO in the third round of the 2013 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup
