ACQUIRED: Signed by the Timbers on Aug. 9, 2012 for the remainder of the season.

A New Zealand international, Hogg recently competed for New Zealand at the London 2012 Olympics and is a two-time Olympian. He has played in 78 games in the ASB Premiership, New Zealand’s top flight, for three teams over six seasons after making his debut as a 16-year-old for Hawke’s Bay United. Hogg has four caps with the All-Whites, recently appearing in a pair of 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.

2012: Played his first full match for the club in the Timbers Reserves’ 3-2 win over Seattle on Sept. 16 ... Played his first match for the club with the Timbers Reserves, starting and playing 71 minutes Sept. 10 vs. LA.

2011-12: Helped Auckland City FC (ACFC) of New Zealand’s ASB Premiership (first division) record an unbeaten 11-0-3 record during the regular season and make a third consecutive playoff appearance … Started all five of his regular-season appearances, with the team posting a 4-0-1 record in matches in which he appeared … Saw limited action due to various national team call-ups … Played in both legs of the club’s semifinal series against Team Wellington – both losses, the club’s first of the campaign … Started five games in Auckland City’s run to the 2011-12 O-League championship  and clinch a berth in the 2012 FIFA Club World Cup … Started both legs of the tournament final, in which Auckland City defeated AS Tefana (Tahiti) on aggregate 3-1 … Started in a 2-0 loss to Kashima Reysol of Japan’s J-League in 2011 FIFA Club World Cup play in Tokyo … Was in the Starting XI as Auckland City won the inaugural ASB Charity Cup, defeating Waitakere United 3-2 on Oct. 16, 2011.

2010-11: Played in nine games for Auckland City FC as the club finished as the runner-up in the ASB Premiership regular-season title chase with a 9-2-3 record … As the runner-up for the regular-season title, Auckland City qualified for the 2011-12 O-League tournament … Appeared in all three postseason matches as Auckland City reached the Grand Final against Waitakere United on April 10, 2011 … Initiated play that led to the equalizing goal in the first half, but Waitakere United would prevail 3-2 to win the league championship … Started all eight games for Auckland City in 2010-11 O-League play, contributing to five shutouts … Featured in both legs of the final against Amicale of Vanuatu, in which Auckland City won 7-1 on aggregate, to claim the O-League title and qualify for the 2011 FIFA Club World Cup … Named Auckland City’s Sportsman of the Year.

2009-10: Joined Auckland City FC and made a career-high 31 appearances across all competitions … Logged 2,741 minutes and a pair of goals over the campaign … Contributed in Auckland City’s league-best 9-1-4 record during the regular season, appearing in 19 league fixtures … Was named to the New Zealand Football Championship’s (NZFC) Team of the Month for November (2009) … Helped the club reach the semifinals … At season’s end, was named to the NZFC All-Star XI for an exhibition match against the New Zealand National Team on May 9, 2010, at North Harbour Stadium … Voted the club’s Players’ Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year … Named one of three finalists for the 2009 New Zealand Football Young Men’s Player of the Year (U-20) … Appeared in six 2009-10 O-League matches and scored the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory over Tahiti’s AS Manu Ura on Feb. 12, 2010 … Played in three matches during the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup as Auckland City finished the tournament in fifth place … Played against Al Ahli of United Arab Emirates (2-0 W on Dec. 9), Mexico’s Atlante CF (3-0 L on Dec. 12) and helped defeat African champions TP Mazembe (3-2 W on Dec. 16).

2008-09: Was signed by Waitakere United ahead of the 2008-09 campaign … Played in two league matches and an 2008-09 O-League fixture before being transferred to Hawke’s Bay United, where he started his career, in January … Appeared in eight league games for Hawke’s Bay through the end of the season, helping the club to within a point of a playoff berth … Contributed to a Hawke’s Bay defense that finished with the third-lowest goals allowed total (17 goals in 14 games) in the league.

2006-08: Played the first two seasons of his career for Hawke’s Bay United of the New Zealand Football Championship … Began his career at the age of 16 during the 2006-07 campaign … In total, appeared in 33 games over two full seasons from 2006-08 for Hawke’s Bay … Played in nine league appearances during the 2007-08 season and missed time to represent New Zealand in the Beijing 2008 Olympics as an 18-year old.

INTERNATIONAL: Has been a member of the New Zealand National Team system at the U-17, U-20, U-23 and senior team levels … Made his debut with the New Zealand National Team on May 23, 2012, scoring in a 2-2 draw against El Salvador at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas,  and has four caps with the senior All-Whites … Played alongside Timbers goalkeeper Jake Gleeson in two 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers during the 2012 OFC Nations Cup in June against the Solomon Islands … New Zealand finished third in the tournament and advanced to the next stage of qualifying … Recently competed at the London 2012 Olympics, starting all three group-stage matches against Belarus, Egypt and Brazil for the “Oly Whites” … New Zealand finished group play with a 0-2-1 record … Also played in the Beijing 2008 Olympics, appearing in all three group matches against China, Brazil and Belgium … In total, has eight caps with the New Zealand U-23 National Team … Played in the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Toronto, appearing in a 2-0 loss to Portugal and a 1-0 loss to The Gambia.
