Gleeson, a New Zealand international, was signed by the MLS Timbers on Feb. 17, 2011, after a standout 2010 season with the club’s development team, the Portland Timbers U-23s. He guided the Timbers U-23s to a perfect 20-0-0 record in USL’s Premier Development League (PDL) and to the league’s championship.
2015: Made 20 appearances (all starts) on loan with T2 this season, earning an 8-10-2 record in USL play with three shutouts.
2014: Started consecutive CONCACACF Champions League matches (Sept. 23 and Oct. 21) ... Made three saves to earn the clean sheet in a 6-0 win over Alpha United FC in CONCACAF Champions League play on Sept. 23 ... Spent the majority of the season on loan to USL PRO co-affiliate Sacramento Republic FC, helping guide the club to the USL PRO Championship in the team's inaugural season ... Made 17 appearances for Republic FC, posting a 11-2-3 record and recording six shutouts ... Recorded five saves for Republic FC in the club's inaugural match March 29, a 1-1 draw at LA Galaxy II ... Named to the USL PRO Team of the Week for Week 2.
2013: Appeared in one match with the first team, coming on at halftime and playing the entire second half in a 1-0 win against EPL side Norwich City FC in a friendly July 24 at JELD-WEN Field; made two saves to help record the clean sheet ... Played in nine games (6 starts) for the Timbers Reserves during the MLS Reserve League, posting a 3-3-3 record and one shutout ... Made a season-high eight saves with the Timbers Reserves in a 1-0 loss to the Colorado Rapids Reserves on Sept. 21 at JELD-WEN Field ... Earned the clean sheet, making three saves, in a 1-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes Reserves on July 28.
2012: Played in three matches (2 starts) with the Timbers Reserves in the MLS Reserve League ... Did not make an MLS appearance during the regular season, but was on the match-day roster for four games ... Made his season debut Aug. 26, playing the full 90 for the Timbers Reserves against the San Jose Earthquakes Reserves ... Earned several national team call-ups with the New Zealand National Team and the New Zealand U-23 National Team during the season.
2011: Made his professional debut with the Timbers in the second half of a 2-0 loss to Toronto FC at BMO Field March 26 ... Earned his first professional start and win in the Timbers home opener at JELD-WEN Field, a 4-2 over Chicago April 14 ... Recorded back-to-back wins against Chicago (April 14) and FC Dallas (April 17) ... Became the eighth-youngest goalkeeper to start an MLS game among players who hold their team’s record for youngest starting goalkeeper at 20 years, 270 days ... Won MLSSoccer.com’s Save of the Week honors in Weeks 2 and 5 ... Was named the Timbers/MLS W.O.R.K.S. Humanitarian of the Year for his work in the community ...
