After two seasons with the Timbers’ USSF Division-2 Pro League side, Lopez joins the Timbers for their inaugural MLS season after being signed on March 17, 2011. Lopez appeared in 23 regular-season matches during his time with the USSF D-2 Timbers. A product of Mexican power Chivas de Guadalajara’s academy, he has spent time with the U.S. U-18 and U-20 national teams during his career.

2011: Earned the game-winning assist on a free kick in a 3-2 MLS Reserve League win over Vancouver, Aug. 21. Played 33 minutes in a 2-0 exhibition win over Argentina's Independiente July 26, picking up his first yellow card. Played 45 minutes in an exhibition against the English Premier League's West Bromwich Albion July 20. Started and played 90 minutes vs. Club América July 7. Played 28 minutes as a sub against AFC Ajax May 25. Recorded two assists in the Timbers Reserves’ 3-1 win over the Galaxy Reserves on April 24. Started and played 110 minutes in a 1-0 overtime loss to San Jose in a U.S. Open Cup play-in match May 3.

2010: Played in 19 regular-season games (4 starts) for the USSF Division-2 Pro League Portland Timbers ... Came off the bench to score the game-winning goal in an exhibition against Argentina’s Boca Juniors on May 29 at PGE Park ... Also recorded an assist during his 19-minute stint ... 2009: Joined the Timbers in July after helping Ventura County Fusion win the Premier Development League title ... Signed with Portland on Aug. 19 ...
