Caroline Flynn was a leader both on the field and in the classroom during her final season at Nebraska. Flynn started 20 games, only sitting out for two matches, and tallied one goal and one assist. Flynn scored her goal on Sept. 11 in the 10th minute at then-No. 13 Clemson. Her assist came on Sept. 23 at Ohio State when she helped Jaycie Johnson achieve the 33rd hat trick in Husker history. Flynn played nearly 1,900 minutes, taking 43 shots, 15 of which were on goal. Flynn earned second-team All-Big Ten accolades after helping guide the Huskers to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013.

Flynn collected first-team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors after making the Academic All-District Team for the third consecutive year. She was a member of the 2016 U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team during the summer before her senior season.
