2011: Suffered a season-ending knee injury while making his first start in over two months, July 16 at Chicago. Ruptured the ACL in his left knee when he landed after clearing a loose ball in the 10th minute. In his first MLS action since March 26, came on as a halftime sub for David Horst and scored his first goal of the season, using a nifty back-heel to put the Timbers up 2-1 in an eventual 3-3 draw with his former club, New York, on June 19. It was his first goal in nearly three years, with his last tally coming as a Red Bull on June 21, 2008. Returned from an ankle injury to play 90 minutes in a Reserve League match June 5 at Chivas USA. Started and played 98 minutes before exiting with an ankle injury in a 1-0 overtime loss to San Jose in a U.S. Open Cup play-in match May 3. Started the first two regular-season games, playing a full 90 minutes in the loss to Toronto FC on March 26. Scored a goal in the Timbers Reserves’ first match against the Galaxy Reserves April 24.

2010: Started the 2010 season with the New York Red Bulls, but did not make an appearance due to recovery from offseason surgery … Signed by the Timbers on Aug. 25 for the remainder of the USSF Division-2 Pro League season … Made season debut Sept. 25 in a 3-1 win at Crystal Palace Baltimore … Appeared in both of the Timbers’ first-round playoff matches … Started in a 1-0 shutout victory in Leg 2 of the club’s first-round series against Vancouver.

2009 MLS: Started and played in 17 games for New York … Had a goal-line save against Real Salt Lake in 2-0 win April 18 … Missed five matches due to groin injury in the summer but returned for CONCACAF Champions League action … Underwent hernia surgery on Aug. 28 and had left adductor surgery on Oct. 7, missing the remainder of season.

2008 MLS: Played in 28 games (all starts) for the Red Bulls … Scored his first goal as a Red Bull in a 2-0 win over Columbus on April 5 and scored the only goal against FC Dallas on June 21 in a 1-0 win … Led all Red Bulls field players in minutes played (2,438) and recorded two assists … Started in all four playoff games to lead New York to the Western Conference Championship and an appearance in the 2008 MLS Cup … Was named the team’s Defender of the Year … Captained squad in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against Crystal Palace Baltimore on July 1.

2007 MLS: Appeared in one game with the Houston Dynamo as a substitute (April 8 vs. LA) before being traded to Toronto FC, along with a 2008 first-round MLS SuperDraft pick, in exchange for midfielder Richard Mulrooney ... Started nine games for Toronto FC and scored the eventual game-win¬ner on May 12 in the club’s first-ever win – a 3-1 victory over Chicago … Was acquired by New York in exchange for defender Todd Dunivant on June 27 … Started eight of his nine appearances for New York.

2006 MLS: Played in 20 games (8 starts) for the Houston Dynamo … Helped the Dynamo win the 2006 MLS Cup – the first championship in franchise history … Logged one assist during the regular season.
