ACQUIRED: On loan to the Timbers from Uruguayan first-division side Club Atlético Atenas beginning April 16, 2012.

Rincón, a young playmaker, came up through the youth system of Colombian side Deportivo Cali and played youth club soccer in the United States before starting his professional career in 2010 at the age of 16, playing with the reserve team of Colombian club Independiente Santa Fe.

2013: Made three appearances (1 start) for the first team across all competitions ... Started the second half and played 45 minutes in a 5-1 win over the Wilmington Hammerheads (USL PRO) in the third round of the 2013 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on May 29 at JELD-WEN Field ... Started and played the full 90 of a 1-0 win over Mexico's Monarcas Morelia in a friendly July 3 at JELD-WEN Field, helping the club claim the inaugural Copa Verde ... Played with the first team in a friendly against EPL side Aston Villa FC, scoring the initial equalizer in the 76th minute of a 2-2 draw ... Also converted his penalty kick in the tiebreaker shootout, which AVFC won 5-4 ... YOUTH: Played in the youth system of top-flight Colombian club Deportivo Cali for two years (2004-06), starting when he was 10 … Moved to Miami, Fla., and played at youth club Weston Fury … Scored two goals in the final to help Weston’s U-13 side win the Florida state title in 2007 … Was selected to participate in the Super Y-League National ODP Camp on Nov. 8, 2007, as one of the top youth players in the United States … In 2008, was part of the Weston U-15 squad that captured the title at the Disney Soccer Showcase, defeating the Greensboro Youth Soccer 93 Dynamo 2-1 … Helped the Weston U-15 boys claim the KELME Cup in Naples, Fla., in January 2009.

PERSONAL: Full name is Sebastián Rincón Lucumí … Is the son of recognized Colombian soccer player Freddy Rincón, who played in three FIFA World Cups for the Colombian National Team … During his playing career, Sebastián’s father also played for Santa Fe.
