Beavers, Timbers announce television broadcast package, presented by PGE

PORTLAND, Ore.
- The Portland Beavers (Triple-A, Pacific Coast League) and Portland Timbers (A-League Soccer) announced today a partnership with Comcast and PGE to present nine television broadcasts of the teams’ games.

Six Beavers games and three Timbers matches will be aired on Comcast Cable Channel 14 (CNW14), beginning with the June 17 Timbers vs. Rochester match at PGE Park. All nine broadcasts, which will be available to Comcast subscribers in the Portland metro area, Salem and Washington’s Clark County, will originate from PGE Park, the home venue for both teams.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase our teams and this wonderful stadium,” said Jack Cain, president of the Beavers and Timbers.

The first televised Beavers game is Thursday, June 24, as Portland plays host to the Sacramento River Cats at 7 p.m.

Veteran broadcaster Bob Akamian and former University of Portland soccer standout Jimmy Clarke will call the action for the Timbers matches. The Beavers broadcast team will consist of Rich Burk, the team's radio play-by-play broadcaster and veteran TV announcer, and a color commentator to be determined.

Each game will be broadcast live and will be available as part of Comcast’s On Demand feature.
