Portland Timbers forward
Bryan Jordan
was named to the USL First Division Team of the Week for Week 16, it was announced today by United Soccer Leagues. Jordan recorded a goal and an assist in the Timbers’ draw against the Minnesota Thunder over the weekend.
Jordan, who rejoined the Timbers on loan from the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer on July 30, helped the club fight off a two-goal deficit to record a 2-2 draw on the road against the Thunder on Aug. 2. He converted a penalty kick attempt in the 75th minute to pick up his first goal of the season and tie the game.
While on loan from the Galaxy this season, Jordan, 22, has appeared in five matches and totaled one goal and two assists in 367 minutes. He was previously on loan from the Galaxy during the periods of June 4-7 and June 27-28.
Jordan played in 26 matches as a rookie for Portland in 2007 and finished among the team’s scoring leaders with five goals and one assist. He was a two-time USL First Division Team of the Week selection last season.
The Timbers play host to the rival Seattle Sounders in their final regular-season meeting as USL First Division opponents on Thursday at PGE Park at 8 p.m., live on Fox Soccer Channel.
