The Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders meet for their final regular-season match as USL First Division rivals Thursday at PGE Park. Members of the Timbers share their favorite memories of the Northwest rivalry in Video News.




The Timbers and Sounders share one of the strongest rivalries in United Soccer Leagues. The two sides have battled through 31 regular-season matches, four playoff games and a handful of U.S. Open Cup matches over the years.




The 2008 season marks the Sounders final year in the USL First Division. The city of Seattle was awarded a Major League Soccer expansion franchise for the 2009  MLS season seeing the end of the USL club.




Tickets for Thursday contest start at $11 and can be purchased through the PGE Park box office, area Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at (503) 224-4400. The first 1,000 fans receive Timbers rally towels. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.; gates open at 6:30 p.m.
