PORTLAND
, Ore.

Portland Timbers forward
Bryan Jordan
and defender
Scot Thompson
were named to the USL First Division Team of the Week for Week 18, it was announced today by United Soccer Leagues. It is Jordan’s third consecutive Team of the Week honor.
The pair aided in Portland’s 2-1 victory over the Montreal Impact on Aug. 16 at PGE Park. Connecting for the go-ahead goal in the 50th minute, Jordan headed in a long pass from Thompson inside the near post from six yards out. It was Jordan’s third goal in four games and Thompson matched a career-high with his second assist of the season.
Jordan, 22, is the second Portland player this season to be named to the Team of the Week three times; the other is defender
Cameron Knowles
. On loan from Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Galaxy, Jordan ranks among the Timbers scoring leaders with three goals and two assists.
Thompson’s assist against Montreal moved him into a two-way tie with Jordan for the team lead in assists. A USL First Division All-League selection in 2007, Thompson, 27, has logged one goal and two assists in 22 matches with the Timbers in 2008. It is his second Team of the Week selection this season.
The Timbers visit Northwest rival the Vancouver Whitecaps on Friday at Swangard Stadium at 8 p.m. on Fox Soccer Channel. A live audio broadcast will be available online at
