Timbers host Fan Appreciation Night Thursday

The Portland Timbers wrap up the regular season on Thursday as they play host to the Cleveland City Stars on Fan Appreciation Night at PGE Park at 7:15 p.m. The team’s annual celebration includes post-game fireworks, a jersey auction and a premium giveaway.
The first 2,000 fans in attendance for Thursday’s regular-season finale receive a hard hat as part of the Comcast Fan-Choice Giveaway. Fans selected the hat among several unique giveaway options.
During the match, the Timbers host their annual Jersey-Off-Our-Back auction, presented by Toyota. Through a special silent auction, fans can take home their favorite player's game-worn jersey, with proceeds benefiting the Portland Beavers & Portland Timbers Community Fund. Those with winning bids will be presented their jersey directly from the players on the field immediately following the match.
Throughout the night, the Timbers will be raffling off a variety of prizes. The first 4,000 fans will receive a raffle ticket and be entered to win a variety of prizes, including a laptop courtesy of Best Buy, gift certificates or autographed memorabilia.
Fan Appreciation Night ends with a special post-game fireworks display over the pitch at PGE Park.
Tickets for Thursday’s events start at $11 and are available through the PGE Park box office, area Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at (800) 745-3000. To take advantage of special discounts for groups of 15 or more, contact the Timbers ticket office at (503) 553-5555.
The 2009 Commissioner’s Cup-champion Timbers received a first-round bye in the USL First Division playoffs and will enter the postseason in the semifinal round. They will host a semifinal game at PGE Park, presented by Spirit Mountain Casino, as part of a two-game, aggregate-series during Oct. 1-4.
Special two-game playoff ticket strips are available, starting at $28. Timbers playoff strips can be purchased through the PGE Park box office or the Timbers ticket office at (503) 553-5555.
