PORTLAND, Ore. –
The Portland Timbers U-23s, the development team for the Timbers, today announced the team will hold an invite-only tryout at PGE Park on May 1, as they seek talent for the upcoming Premier Development League season.
The team’s invite-only combine is intended for current collegiate players who were unable to attend the previous tryout due to NCAA restrictions, but all players are welcome to apply. Select players will be invited by the coaching staff to attend the tryout. Space is limited.
To apply for the combine, click here. The invite tryout will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon (participants must check in at 8 a.m.). The registration fee is $40; players will only be charged if invited to attend. The fee includes a ticket to the exhibition between the Timbers’ first team and Costa Rican club Puntarenas FC the same night at PGE Park.

The Timbers U-23s open the 2010 campaign Saturday, May 15, as part of a doubleheader at PGE Park with the Timbers first team. Kickoff against Washington Crossfire is set for 2:30 p.m.
