Timbers U-23s Richards named to Team of the Week

PORTLAND, Ore.
– United Soccer Leagues announced today that Timbers U-23s forward
Brent Richards
was named to the PDL Team of the Week. Richards scored four goals in the team’s 9-0 win over the Spokane Spiders last week.
A native of Camas, Wash., Richards became the first player in Timbers U-23s history to recorded four goals in a single game to aid in the team’s win over Spokane on July 2. With is four-goal performance, he nearly doubled his season total entering the match and now leads the team in scoring with nine goals.
In 11 games with the Timbers U-23s last season, Richards was the team’s second leading scorer with four goals and four assists. He finished his sophomore season at the University of Washington in 2009 and was the Huskies leading scorer for the second straight season. He was an All-Pac-10 second-team selection.
Richards becomes the third members of the Timbers U-23s this season to earn Team of the Week honors, joining goalkeeper

was an honorable mention for the PDL Team of the Week on June 30.
