Jeremy Hall Travels To Spain with Generation adidas Team

PORTLAND, Ore.– Portland Timbers defender/midfielder Jeremy Hall is among Major League Soccer’s 19-man Generation adidas team that will travel to Madrid, Spain, for 10 days of training and competitive matches, it was announced today.


The side will be coached by reigning MLS Coach of the Year Schellas Hyndman of FC Dallas and will train at the Real Madrid training facilities in nearby Valdebebas. The trip will culminate with three matches against the reserve teams of Real Madrid (Thursday, Dec. 2), Rayo Vallecano (Tuesday, Dec. 7) and Atlético Madrid (Friday, Dec. 8).

Hall, 22, was acquired by the Timbers from the New York Red Bulls on Nov. 22 in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft. A first-round selection of New York in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft, Hall played 37 regular-season games (31 starts) over his two seasons with the club.


While in Spain, the players will also have the opportunity to attend a Real Madrid or Getafe La Liga match and the UEFA Champions League group stage finale between the Merengues and French club Auxerre at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.


The 19 players represent 12 MLS clubs with FC Dallas, Chicago Fire and Philadelphia Union each contributing three players each. Of the 15 players currently in the Generation adidas program, goalkeeper Josh Lambo (Dallas) and midfielder Blair Gavin (Chivas USA) will not make the trip.


The remaining group is supplemented by Generation adidas program graduates, including Hall, Baggio Husidic (Chicago), Stefan Frei (Toronto) and Brek Shea (Dallas) as well as homegrown products Juan Agudelo (New York) and Tristan Bowen (Los Angeles).
