The Portland Timbers traveled to Chivas USA this weekend and faced a barrage of shots in their 1-0 loss. Though Goalkeeper Troy Perkins gave up a single goal in the 70', the damange could have been worse if not for some top saves.
As head coach John Spencer said about Perkins performance following the game, “I thought he was excellent. I thought he pulled off two world-class saves. That’s why we brought him here, that’s why we put him back in the team, and I thought in the last couple months he’s been excellent.”
Up against Jack Jewsbury, Darlington Nagbe, and Diego Chara, Perkins was the fans' clear winner with 90% of the vote. He is your CenturyLink Man of the Match.
