Week 1 of Movember is in the books and the moustaches are beginning to fill in.
In the friendly 'stache growing competition between Eric Brunner and David Horst, Brunner is currently in the lead having raised $265 in donations while Horst is trailing with $195 in donations.
Horst, however, is unconcerned with the Brunner lead. “I feel pretty good about it," he said. "Brunner’s out to a pretty hot start so far in the donation department but there’s plenty of time left in the month so I think I’ll catch him in the end.”
What do you think of Horst and Brunner's stache progress of Week One? Though the Horstache is well known, Brunner's upstart 'stache is making a run for the title. That's not stopping the Horstache from breaking out some special weapons due to Horst's actual 'stache having grown in a bit more than his teammate's.
“I’m going to put some designs in," hinted Horst. "I’m keeping that a secret though to surprise the fans a little bit and have a little fun with it.”
Timbers Supporters can get in on the act too with many having already started their own moustaches. As a group, $120 has been raised--a good start--but there's lots of Movember still left to g[r]o[w].
Remember, a donation to either player enters you into a drawing for a signed jersey by the winning player moustache. Multiple donations count as multiple entries so please give generously and help raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.
