PORTLAND, Ore.
- The Portland Timbers today announced that defender
David Horst
(above, left) recently underwent successful surgery to repair a torn labrum and femoroacetabular (FAI) impingement in his left hip.
Horst, 26, is expected to miss 5-7 months.
The ninth overall pick (fifth round) of the Timbers in the 2010 MLS Expansion Draft, Horst started in 11 of the 16 games he appeared in during the 2011 Timbers season. Horst originally was selected in the first round (14th overall) of the 2008 MLS SuperDraft by
