Timbers acquire International Roster Slot from D.C. United in exchange for Allocation

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers have acquired an international roster slot from D.C. United for the 2012 and 2013 seasons in exchange for allocation money, it was announced today.

Additionally, the Timbers have acquired a natural fourth-round draft pick in the 2015 MLS Supplemental Draft from the Montreal Impact in exchange for an international roster slot for the 2012 season. The Timbers will receive their international slot back from Montreal on Jan. 1, 2013.

With today’s transactions, the Timbers currently have nine international roster slots for the 2012 season. Portland’s additional international slot from D.C. United returns to United on Jan. 1, 2014.
