The two clubs squared off for the first time on Aug. 31 at America First Field in Sandy, Utah, with the Real Salt Lake Reserves coming away with a 1-0 win.

The game's lone goal was scored in the 38th minute by Real Salt Lake forward Devon Sandoval. Timbers goalkeeper Milos Kocic made seven saves in the first half, limiting the Real Salt Lake Reserves attack to just one goal. The Timbers Reserves are 2-2-0 overall at JELD-WEN Field this season and look to improve their overall record with a win on Sunday.

The Real Salt Lake Reserves have won consecutive matches, with their victory on Aug. 31 extending the team’s unbeaten streak to three games. Based on points per game, the Real Salt Lake Reserves are in second place in the MLS Reserve League West Division standings behind the first-place LA Galaxy Reserves.

The Timbers Reserves play three of their final four MLS Reserve League matches at JELD-WEN Field, beginning with Sunday’s match. The Timbers Reserves also play host to the Colorado Rapids Reserves on Sept. 21 and the Seattle Sounders FC Reserves on Oct. 14 at JELD-WEN Field.
