Three players. Three goal. Three nominees.
The Portland Timbers offense was off and running on Saturday against the Seattle Sounders with three spectacular goalscorers all contributing and all three nominated for the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week for Week 5.
Diego Valeri's spin-and-shoot is the first nominee showcasing great build-up and a lethal finish. Diego Chara spent part of his Saturday celebrating his birthday to go along with a spectacular brace with his second strike on the day--an absolute golazo--becoming the second nominee. Finally, for the third nominee, forward Maximiliano Urruti opened his 2014 goalscoring account with an artfully curled shot into the upper 90. All three absolute stunners.
Colorado Rapids' Jose Mari and LA Galaxy's Baggio Husidic are also both in the mix. Voting runs until this Thursday evening, 11:59pm PT. Click here for an MLSsoccer.com archive of past nominees and winners.
