Portland Timbers captain Will Johnson got into gear Saturday night against Chivas USA for his first goal of the season. After Maximiliano Urruti pressured the ball away from a Goats defender and then dropped it off for Darlington Nagbe, Johnson made one of his trademark "third runs" from the midfield. Nagbe spotted him, teed it up for him before Johnson fired it home.
Nominated alongside Seattle's Clint Dempsey, LA's Robbie Keane, the Crew's Federico Higuain and Philadelphia's Andrew Wenger, Johnson is in some good company.
Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursday. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week — including an archive of all of this season's nominees and winners — click here.
