On a brilliant spring Mother's Day morning, the Portland Timbers and LA Galaxy came out trading blows back and forth. Chances were created by both sides but things did not open up until very late in the afternoon.
In the 92nd minute, via a long LA throw-in, Galaxy forward Robbie Keane snuck through the Portland defense to poke in the game's first goal.
But the Timbers kept up their run of late game heroics. Deep into stoppage time in the 95th minute, Futty Danso and Will Johnson didn't quit on a ball in the LA box. Danso headed it down to Johnson who flicked it off the side of his foot to squirt free for Diego Valeri. Valeri fired from a sharp angle and the ball trickled over LA's Jaime Penedo hand into the back of the net giving the Timbers a 1-1 draw.
