You’ve been in Portland a long time, is there anything in the state that you haven’t experience yet?
“I think there’s a hike near Multnomah Falls called Oneonta Gorge hike and you hike through the water. You go waist deep and go up the waterfall. I’ve always wanted to do it and I see pictures of it. I’ve never done it, so I want to.”

After playing at the University of Portland, did you ever think in your wildest dreams that you’d be playing professionally in Portland at this stage in your life?
“No. Never. I even talked to my husband about this. I honestly didn’t see myself playing past 24 [years old] really , so it’s crazy to be 29 now and having played so many seasons professionally and be back in Portland at the end of it all, it has been incredible. It’s my home and it’s special in that way and I never thought in my wildest dreams that I’d get to, but it’s unreal.”

Who isn’t a fan of good dessert? What’s your go-to when it comes to sweet treats?
“If I have to discuss dessert, it’s ice cream, that’s my number one. Ruby Jewel, love it. Everybody likes Salt & Straw, but I feel like that’s getting a little too crazy. At Ruby Jewel, you can still get it in, get your scoop and they always give you a big scoop. I always go with the coffee and salted caramel.”

We’ve heard you’ve dabbled in surfing a bit, do you still find time to ride some waves?
“Growing up in San Diego, I was in the ocean every day. I had a truck and I’d leave my wetsuit in it. Every day, I would go to the coast because my high school was right by the beach. I tried to surf when I was younger, but I had to stop because it was kind of dangerous. I had a few friends that got injured and I stopped because of soccer. I did more boogie boarding and things like that. I’ve always wanted to get back into surfing. My best friend is a surfer and we’ve always talked about going to Holly Beck’ surf camp. It’s a surf and yoga retreat and she [Holly Beck] is a pro surfer. It would be cool to go to a retreat and learn how to surf. That’s for sure on the bucket list.”
