Nickelodeon held the first annual Kid's Choice Sports Awards on Thursday night, and one of Portland's finest brought home some hardware. Thorns FC forward Alex Morgan received the award for Sickest Moves, a category rewarding a player across all sports with the most dynamic, tricky and jaw-dropping play.

Morgan, 25, has played in eight games with the Thorns this season after returning from an ankle injury that kept her sidelined until early June. In those games, the USWNT striker has recorded three goals, including an impressive left-footed rocket to the back of the net in a 7-1 victory against FC Kansas City on July 13.

Morgan beat out other top athletes such as the NHL's Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin, the NBA's Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, as well as LA Galaxy star Landon Donovan, Barcelona's Lionel Messi and the Minnesota Vikings' Adrian Peterson.
