GOALS | FC Dallas vs. Portland Timbers | Oct. 25, 2014

Darlington Nagbe #3, Timbers @ FCD, 10.25.14

On a sweltering late fall day in Frisco, Texas, the Portland Timbers came to play FC Dallas with a playoff spot up for grabs. They controlled the first half with a number of chances--plus a key Donovan Ricketts save--all prior to Portland getting on the board first.

Despite the Timbers having much the run of play, Dallas presented a dangerous chance that Ricketts came up big on to make the save.

In the 43rd minute, Darlington Nagbe, who was on the make all night, drove to goal and uncorked a shot that deflected and spun into the back of the net. The Timbers led 1-0.

In the 82nd minute, second half subs Gastón Fernández and Maximiliano Urruti combined for a brilliant goal. Fernández showed great vision to feed the ball to Urruti near the top of the box. Urruti's deft first touch then set up his shot and he unleashed an arrow from his quiver to make for a 2-0 Timbers lead.
