Thorns FC forward Jodie Taylor undergoes successful knee surgery

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC forward Jodie Taylor underwent a successful lateral meniscectomy on her right knee, it was announced today.

The procedure was performed by Portland Timbers chief medical officer Dr. Kevin Murphy at Sports Medicine Oregon in Tigard, Ore. Taylor will begin rehabilitation immediately with Timbers and Thorns FC sports medicine staff at the Providence Sports Care Center. She is expected to miss approximately three weeks.


Taylor, 28, made her Thorns FC debut, entering the match as a second-half substitute in a 4-1 win against the Boston Breakers on April 11 at Providence Park. Acquired through a 2015 NWSL College Draft-day trade, Taylor earned her first start for Portland on April 18 in a 1-0 win against the Western New York Flash.
