Kharlton Belmar Celebrates vs. Sacramento Republic, 4.2.15


PORTLAND, Ore. – Following a 2-0 win against Arizona United SC at Scottsdale Stadium on April 25, T2 return home to face Orange County Blues FC at Providence Park on Sunday, May 3; kickoff is set for 6 p.m. (Pacific). It is one of two T2 games to be played at Providence Park this season.

T2 (3-2-1, 10 pts) concluded their four-game road swing with a 2-0 victory against Arizona United SC on April 25. The win marked the first road win and shutout for T2 in their inaugural season. Forward Kharlton Belmar netted two goals in the first half, while forward Rundell Winchester registered his first assist of the season on Belmar’s first goal. With the victory, T2 moved into second place overall in the Western Conference standings.


Belmar, who was named USL Player of the Week for his efforts against Arizona United SC, shares the league lead in goals scored (5) and ranks tied for third in points (10) through the first six matches. Belmar registered his second brace of the season in the victory against Arizona United SC. In the match, Portland Timbers captain Will Johnson started and played 63 minutes in his first game action since sustaining a fractured tibia and fibula in his right leg on Sept. 27, 2014.

Orange County Blues FC (3-1-0, 9pts) are currently on a three-game win streak, last defeating Sacramento Republic FC 2-1 on April 24. Recording victories over Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 and Arizona United SC, the OC Blues have not lost since their first match of the 2015 season against Arizona United SC on March 28. Through four matches, midfielder Didier Crettenand leads the OC Blues with two goals and three assists, while forward Christopher Ramirez has also tallied two goals. Orange County has scored eight goals in only four games and sit behind T2 in the Western Conference standings in fourth place. OC Blues enter Sunday’s match on short rest after facing Seattle Sounders FC 2 on Friday night at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila, Wash.

T2 are undefeated at home (2-0-0) in their inaugural season, defeating Real Monarchs SLC on March 29 and Sacramento Republic FC on April 2 at Merlo Field at the University of Portland. T2 have tallied five goals in two home games while allowing only two.
