Following an early effort from inside the penalty box by Timbers midfielder Diego Valeri that was saved, Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco provided the game’s only goal with a left-footed drive from distance that narrowly beat the outstretched arms of goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey in the fifth minute.
