Eight Portland Timbers players made it onto the 2015 AT&T MLS All-Star ballot this year: Adam KwaraseyLiam RidgewellAlvas PowellNat BorchersDiego CharaDarlington NagbeDiego Valeri, and Fanendo Adi. All have an opportunity to be part of the MLS All-Star team that will host the Premier League's Tottenham Hotspur at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on July 29.



Along with voting online on the ballot above, fans can vote on Twitter and Facebook by including the players first and last name (with or without a space) and the hashtag #MLSAllStar.

In this series, Timbers.com takes a look at each positional area and makes the case for each candidate within. We're now on to our Timbers forward on the ballot: Fanendo Adi.

In 18 games this season (11 starts), Timbers forward Fanendo Adi has scored eight goals, including this beauty:


Adi's eight goals are tied for third in MLS. But that number looks even more impressive when you dig a little deeper. 


Adi scores a goal every 136 minutes. How does this number compare to other players in MLS? Adi is in the top 15 among all MLS players (with a minimum of 500 minutes played) in minutes per goal. Adi is right up there with other prolific strikers like Kei Kamara, Jozy Altidore, Obafemi Martins, Chris Wondolowski, and Clint Dempsey.

Adi is in the top 15 in MLS in shots on target and is tied for third in goals inside the box. 


He's also one of just two players in MLS with three or more braces this season. 


And Adi uses his considerable size to help his team defensively. Among all other forwards, Adi is third in the league behind Chris Wondolowski in headed clearances.
