Timbers on Loan: Liam Ridgewell finishes time with Brighton & Hove Albion with another triumphant win

Portland Timbers defender Liam Ridgewell, made his final on loan appearance with Brighton & Hove Albion in the Sky Bet Championship helping the Seagulls to their fourth win in a row with a 3-2 victory over Bolton Wanderers Saturday.


Ridgewell made six starts (one in FA Cup play, four in the Championship) for Brighton while on loan with the team winning four of the games. The recent run of form leaves them in fourth place in the table, only three points off leader Hull City, and very much in the race for promotion.


In an interview with the Brighton website, Ridgewell spoke glowingly of his time with them.

"It will be a shame to leave but it's time to go back and play for Portland Timbers in the MLS," he said. "My time here has been fantastic. A big thanks to all those at the club who have looked after me and made me welcome. 


"Brighton are a fantastic team with some fantastic players and hopefully I've helped them to push on and secure that automatic spot."
