2016 MLS Team of the Week (Wk 1): Diego Chara helps lead team to opening day win

Diego Chara, Timbers training, 1.27.16

The opening weekend of MLS did not disappoint in 2016.

A record 36 goals were scored in the 10 games on Sunday, with a few players standing out above the rest by scoring two goals each for their teams.

In Portland, Diego Chara was a heat-seeking missile in the middle of the pitch breaking up plays, stealing balls, providing an outlet and starting an attack forward all in the Timbers' 2-1 win over the visiting Columbus Crew SC.
