After a decisive victory over a Cascadia rival last week, the Portland Timbers now head east to take on the Chicago Fire Saturday at Toyota Park (5:30pm PT, KPDX). Here are five numbers to know in the latest Quick Strikes.


16 Midfielder Diego Valeri leads the Timbers in shots on goal his season, having taken 16 shots on target. With forward Fanendo Adi just one behind Valeri, Portland is the only MLS club so far in 2016 with multiple players who have 15 or more shots on goal.


15Portland has scored 15 second-half goals in 2016, which is tied for the most in MLS. By comparison, the Fire have the fewest second-half goals with four. 


.85 Forward Jack McInerney, who has scored four goals so far in 2016, is averaging .85 goals per 90 minutes in MLS play this season. That is the highest goals per 90 minutes average in the league among MLS players with two or more goals. 


0 The Fire have never beaten the Timbers in the regular-season with Portland mustering a 4-0-2 record in the series. Chicago is the only current MLS team who has never beaten Portland.


13The Timbers have scored in all 13 of its MLS matches this season. That is the longest streak to start a season in club history (previous high was 10 in 1981) and the longest such streak among MLS teams since FC Dallas in 2013.
