The FIFA international window closed yesterday with matches for EURO qualifying as well as an international friendly for Canada against Brazil in Ottawa.


Denmark 6, Poland 0

One game removed from a second-half brace, Thorns FC forward Nadia Nadim registered a pair of assists, logging 79 minutes to help Denmark take a firm hold on second place in Group 4 in the qualifying stages for EURO 2017. Check out both assists by Nadim in the match.

Iceland 8, Macedonia 0

Thorns FC midfielder Dagny Brynjarsdottir and Iceland wasted no time getting on the scoreboard against Macedonia. Brynjarsdottir entered the match in the 59th minute and rounded out the scoring for Iceland, tallying a goal in the 81st minute. Iceland now sits on top of Group 1 with a slight edge over Scotland thanks to a win in the head-to-head series and a larger goal differential.


Canada 1, Brazil 0

Playing the second of two matches against Brazil, the Canada Women’s National Team got a late winner from Janine Beckie to secure a 1-0 in front of more than 23,000 fans in Ottawa on June 7. Thorns FC forward Christine Sinclair captained the side and logged 79 minutes in the win.
