Fresh off her Olympic debut with the U.S. Women’s National Team and a big weekend for the club, Portland Thorns FC midfielder Allie Longwas the guest of honor last night at the Hillsoboro Hops game, throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
Because you can’t take soccer out of the soccer player, Long juggled the baseball once with her foot before her delivery to home plate.
Long was accompanied by several of her Thorns FC teammate to watch the Hops cruise to a 6-1 victory in their regular-season finale. The two-time defending Northwest League champion Hops begin their 2017 playoff campaign on Wednesday.
