Schoolhouse Supplies Tools for Schools
Supporting education and decreasing the achievement gap for students in the Portland area are of great importance to the Portland Timbers. We realize the significance of putting each child on an even playing field in terms of their learning experience, and that is what motivates our continued partnership with Schoolhouse Supplies and the Tools for Schools program. Through this program, the Timbers have adopted Jason Lee Elementary School for the past seven years, providing backpacks filled with school supplies to more than 600 children enrolled at the school. Members of the Timbers front office staff dedicate a day each August to filling and preparing these backpacks, which we then deliver to the students during their first week of school. This partnership has continually proven to be as rewarding of an experience for our staff as it has been for the students, serving as a great team-building opportunity and a chance to see the direct impact that our efforts are making.
