O’Rourke, 31, started 12 games (10 starts) last year for the Portland Timbers, logging 975 minutes in 2014. Before his time in Portland, O’Rourke spent seven years with Columbus Crew SC, playing 147 games (137 starts) and providing seven assists from 2007 to 2013. In 2008, O’Rourke started all 28 matches in which he appeared for Columbus, logging a career-high four assists and helping the Crew win the 2008 MLS Cup title. Before moving to Columbus, he spent 2006 with the New York Red Bulls, logging two assists and playing in 28 games (27 starts). O’Rourke was originally drafted by the San Jose Earthquakes in 2005 with the fourth overall pick of the 2005 MLS SuperDraft.

The defender brings leadership and 10 years of MLS experience to T2, along with a range of national and international tournament experience. He started six CONCACAF Champions League matches from 2009-2011 with Columbus Crew SC and appeared 13 times (11 starts) in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup throughout his professional career. In college, he won the prestigious MAC Hermann Trophy (soccer’s Heisman) in 2004, after helping Indiana to its second-straight NCAA championship. In his four years at Indiana, the Hoosiers posted a goals-against average of 0.60 with 46 shutouts
