The race for the playoffs is in full effect with Portland Thorns FC among those fighting for one of the last slots. Only the first four teams qualify and heading into Portland's final regular-season match on Sunday against Seattle Reign FC (2pm PT, CSNNW, TICKETS), here's what will need to happen for them to secure a spot.

Results on Saturday night played out in Portland's favor, with Washington Spirit droping a 1-0 result to Sky Blue FC and the Chicago Red Stars playing Western New York to a 3-3 draw. With those two results, both Washington and Chicago sit on 35 points. Thorns FC will clinch a spot if ...
Scenario 1: Thorns FC win vs. Reign FC

Thorns FC will be eliminated if ...
