Eryk Williamson, Logan Ketterer named to Major League Soccer's Team of the Week

Portland Timbers midfielder Eryk Williamson and goalkeeper Logan Ketterer have been named to Major League Soccer’s Week 5 Team of the Week. The honors come after Portland’s 2-0 victory on Saturday at the San Jose Earthquakes.

Williamson started Saturday’s game and assisted on both of Portland’s goals, playing Yimmi Chara through San Jose’s defense for the Timbers’ early opener and connecting with Marvin Loría on a second-half cross for the team’s second-half insurance. Williamson completed 88 percent of his attempted passes and led or tied for the team lead in tackles (three) and dribbles (five).

Ketterer, acquired last week via an emergency loan from El Paso Locomotive FC, kept a clean sheet in his Major League Soccer debut, with his penalty-kick stop on Earthquakes captain Chris Wondolowski among the four saves he made during the match.

Williamson and Ketterer are the first Timbers to make an MLS Team of the Week this season. Each week’s team is presented by Audi, decided by MLSSoccer.com's staff, and announced on Monday.
