They did it again.
The Portland Timbers won their fourth game in a row--a 2-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo Saturday night--and picked up their seventh shutout of 2015.
Helping lead the cleansheet was the combined work of defenders Norberto Paparatto and Jorge Villafana. Villafana also added a picture-perfect free kick assist to set up Portland's opening goal.
Read on to find out who else made the Team of the Week for Week 16:
GK: David Ousted (Vancouver Whitecaps) - We are running out of words to describe how good this guy has been this year. He had two big PK saves on Bradley Wright-Phillips and another huge save on Manolo Sanchez in the Whitecaps' 2-1 win.
M: Chris Rolfe (D.C. United) – It wasn’t always pretty, but Rolfe came through in the clutch for D.C., scoring two late goals to give United a 2-1 win against the Revs and push the club into first in the Shield standings.
M: Matias Perez Garcia (San Jose Earthquakes) – San Jose have found the way to get their Argentine DP clicking – and it shows not only in his goal and assist against Seattle, but his ability to connect play around the park.
M: Juninho (LA Galaxy) – Not only did he score his first non-penalty goal since September 2013, but the Brazilian midfielder controlled the pace of play in his 68 minutes against a helpless Union side.
M: Kekuta Manneh (Vancouver Whitecaps) – Scored the opening goal for the 'Caps and looked dangerous on a night that saw him collect three successful dribbles.
F: David Villa (New York City FC) – Was clinical and opportunistic with his finishing and active when he had the ball, which wasn’t much. He still kept Toronto’s defense plenty busy with his runs and movement in the penalty area as he scored two goals in NYCFC's third straight win.
F: Fabian Espindola (D.C. United) - Didn’t score, but looked very dangerous. Assisted on Rolfe’s equalizer, and swerved in a number of dangerous balls throughout the 90.
Coach: Bruce Arena (LA Galaxy) - Finally got all his players back and that led to a classic Galaxy trouncing of the Philadelphia Union.
Bench: Josh Saunders (New York City FC), Justen Glad (Real Salt Lake), Robbie Rogers (LA Galaxy), Sam Cronin (Colorado Rapids), Sanna Nyassi (San Jose Earthquakes), Javier Morales (Real Salt Lake), Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy)
