Nadia Nadim, Thorns FC and Danish National Team player, is a big supporter and advocate for the organization From Street to School. The organization, based in Denmark, strives to send street children from Afghanistan back to school. Children in this region are impacted by a longstanding war and conditions of poverty. Many are orphans who have lost their parents to disease or war. Instead of pursuing an education, these kids take to the streets to earn money for their families, often only a couple dollars a day. From Street to School provides financial support to enable Afghan children to pursue an education and stay off the streets.
Stand Together is teaming up with Nadia to launch a donation matching campaign to support From Street to School and highlight the importance of youth education. The campaign will start on Wednesday, September 28th and run through Monday, October 3rd. Fans will be encouraged to go to PTFC.gesture.com where they can choose from the following donation options:
1. For $50 provide a street child with one month of days of schooling, food, and clothing
2. For $30 provide a street child with 15 days of schooling , food, and clothing
3. For $10 provide a street child with one week of schooling, food, and clothing
Stand Together will match all donations up to $1000.
