On loan Thorns FC midfielders Celeste Boureille and Hayley Raso helped Canberra United to the best regular-season record and accompanying 2016/17 Westfield W-League Premiership title in the final weekend of regular-season matches. It is United's third regular-season title in their history.
Following their big 5-1 win over the Melbourne Victory on Saturday, United next watched as Adelaide United beat Sydney FC 5-2 and with Perth Glory unable to overcome the Canberra goal differential despite beating Western Sydney Wanderers 1-0, United was crowned Premiership winners.
For the season, Boureille played in every one of the team's 12 matches, while Raso appeared 10 times on the campaign, chipping in two goals as well.
United will next face Melbourne City FC Women on Feb. 4 in the league playoff semifinals.
