Thorns FC's Hayley Raso named to Australia Women's National Team roster for Tournament of Nations

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC forward Hayley Raso has been named to the Australia Women’s National Team roster ahead of the Tournament of Nations July 27-Aug. 3.

The Matildas will take on the United States, Brazil and Japan in the four-team tournament, squaring off against the USWNT in their first match on July 27 in Seattle at CenturyLink Field; kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (Pacific) on ESPN. Australia then takes on Japan in San Diego at Qualcomm Stadium (July 30) at 2:15 p.m. (Pacific) and concludes the tournament against Brazil on Aug. 3 in Carson, Calif., at the StubHub Center at 4:15 p.m. (Pacific).

Raso, who is in her second season with Portland, has tallied two goals and two assists in 13 matches (11 starts). The Thorns FC forward has earned 16 caps for Australia, tallying one goal. Most recently, Raso featured for the Matildas at the Algarve Cup in March. Raso will depart to join the Australia Women’s National Team following Portland’s home match against the Washington Spirit on Saturday, July 22, and will return ahead of the club’s next match against the Houston Dash on Aug. 5.
