#PDXSEA100 Quick Strikes | Adi, Valeri look to continue impressive goalscoring marks

Riding a three-game win streak, the Portland Timbers will host rival Seattle Sounders FC for the 100th all-time match-up Sunday, when the clubs square off at Providence Park (1pm PT, ESPN). Here are five numbers to know for #PORvSEA in the latest Quick Strikes.

65Sixty-five goals have been scored between the two clubs in regular-season play since their first MLS clash in 2011. Only one MLS fixture (LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake) has seen more goals scored since 2011.

8 Having played in 10 regular-season matches against Sounders FC, Portland forward Fanendo Adi has scored eight goals against Seattle. That output is the most by any Timbers player against any single opponent in MLS play and the most of any Portland player against the Sounders in all eras of the club.

49 Sunday's game will be the 49th time that Portland and Seattle have squared off at Providence Park, which is by far the most of any stadium in the rivalry's 100 matches. The second-most common stadium for the fixture is CenturyLink Field, which has hosted 23 games.

5 In the 44-year history of the Timbers-Sounders rivalry, Portland midfielder Diego Valeri is the only player on either side of the rivalry to have scored in five consecutive seasons in competitive matches between the clubs. The reigning MLS MVP has scored against Seattle in regular-season matches (2014, 2016, 2017), the playoffs (2013), and the U.S. Open Cup (2015).

39 Heading into the week, no MLS team had blocked more shots in 2018 than the Timbers, who have denied 39 shots this season. Defender Liam Ridgewell leads the way having blocked nine shots so far this season.
