#StatMan Three | Charas become fourth set of brothers to play for Timbers across all eras

The Portland Timbers lost 3-1 to Minnesota United FC in the 2020 MLS season opener at Providence Park on Sunday evening. Here are three #StatMan takeaways from the match.

5 Diego Valeri tied the match up just five minutes after the Loons had taken the lead. It is the fifth different season opener that Valeri has scored in for the Timbers and the fifth time the midfielder has scored against Minnesota United in MLS play.

4 With both Yimmi and Diego Chara getting the start, the duo became the fourth set of brothers to play for the Timbers across all eras of the club. The pair join Bruce and Brian Gant (NASL), Dell and Grant Herried (NASL) and Josh and Shawn Saunders (USL).

3 Beginning his fourth season with the Timbers, Sebastián Blanco led the match in both chances created (three) and shots (four). The match was the 95th of his Timbers career, which is the 10th most MLS matches played by a Timbers player.
