In their first match of the NWSL Fall Series, Portland Thorns FC will take on Utah Royals FC on Sunday afternoon at Providence Park at 12pm PT.

1The future is here – After not playing in the Challenge Cup due to injury, forward Sophia Smith is expected to make her Thorns debut. Smith was the first pick in the 2020 NWSL College Draft.  

4New home – Defender Becky Sauerbrunn played her last two seasons with the Utah Royals before joining the Thorns in the offseason. Sauerbrunn has won four NWSL Defender of the Year Awards in her seven seasons in the league. 

2Honors shared – In the NWSL Challenge Cup, two Thorns FC players were name to the tournament's best XI in Britt Eckerstrom and Lindsey Horan. Additionally, Horan had the Play of the Tournament while Eckerstrom received Save of the Tournament honors. 

8Original – Christine Sinclair is the last remaining Thorns player who played in the club's inaugural season of 2013. Now in her eighth season, Sinclair is the club's all-time leader in games and goals. 

344Friendly Confines– Portland will play a match at Providence Park for the first time since Oct. 12, 2019. It will be 339 days between the club's last home match and Sunday afternoon.
